Enjoy the wide-open beauty of the Missouri River and the Oahe Dam in this classic road fondo! Three route distances will give you the right amount of fun and fantastic views.

Event information
The TdO will start and finish at Campground 3 Picnic Shelter at the Oahe Downstream Recreation Area (5 miles north of Ft. Pierre, SD - just off highway 1806).

Online registration is now open and closes on June 20. Same-day registration is available but shirts are not guaranteed.
14 MI DAM FUN RIDE
Tour through the Oahe Downstream Recreation Area and then climb from the dam’s power house up to a scenic overlook for a beautiful view of Lake Oahe - the nation’s 4th largest reservoir. Your return back down will take you across the top of the Oahe Dam with a view downstream to Pierre and Fort Pierre and points beyond.
40 MI MEDIUM RIDE
After a tour of the Oahe Downstream Recreation Area, you’ll climb up and across the Oahe Dam - one of the largest earth-rolled dams on the planet. From there you’ll head out into the western SD prairie to the Chantier Creek Recreation Area. The out and back is on Highway 1806 - named for the year the Lewis & Clark expedition returned back down the Missouri River.
67 MI LONG RIDE
Looking for that metric century challenge? You'll find it on this route that includes 2 categorized climbs! You'll know when to turn around - when the pavement ends on Highway 1806! Did we mention you might see a buffalo herd? All that with amazing views of Lake Oahe and the short grass prairie.
